Goals and Dreams

Goals and Dreams, where do I begin?  I've got a lot of goals - personal and professional.   I think I'll start with some of the places I would like to visit.

TRAVEL

There are, of course, many places world-wide I would like to see.  But, I really want to take care of some places of interest here in the good 'ol USA:

Glacier National Park

Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta

Punxsutawney, PA (on Groundhog Day, of course)

Sturgeon Fishing on the Columbia River in Oregon and Washington (like I could ever pull a sturgeon out)

Roadsideamerica.com - Offbeat tourist attractions

Hope Watermelon Festival - Hope, Arkansas

Hollywood, CA

Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park

Charleston Ghost Tour

Vermont (during maple sugaring time in the early spring)

Carolina Renaissance Festival (I've been a few times, just can't get enough!)

New York City

Mystic, Connecticut

Drives I'll Definitely Make Time For

Washington, D.C. (I've been a couple of times, but I'd love to return)

Chicago

PROFESSIONAL GOALS

Currently I am beginning the process of applying for graduate school at East Carolina University.  I plan on working towards a Master's Degree in Instructional Technology.  It seems like something I would really enjoy!

PERSONAL GOALS

What I want more than anything right now is a second cochlear implant.  From every source I have found, EVERYONE I have met or read about says the difference is amazing.  Right now I can hear, but I am missing so much.  The sound is not "full", I can not tell which direction a sound is coming from, music is very difficult, hearing in a room with lots of background noise is almost impossible, being involved in a conversation in a car or restaurant is difficult,...I could go on!  I know my hearing will never be perfect, but I want to keep getting the best treatments possible.  I LOVE MY COCHLEAR IMPLANT.  I'm definitely not complaining, just a little frustrated that there is a better option out there, and my health insurance will not cover it.  I'll be bilateral someday - just watch.
